How Much Do Breast Implants Cost? The Shocking Truth!

You may be asking how much do breast implants cost if you are considering the procedure. Here's the answer and it's going to shock you.

First of all, what you should know is that there are hidden price discrepancies when it comes to breast augmentation surgery, or almost any plastic surgery for that matter. The truth of the matter is that they can vary greatly, here's why:

Type of Breast Augmentation: There are several different options available when it comes to this procedure. There are saline and silicone breast implants. There are also different methods of inserting them: Some involve cutting under the breasts, cutting the armpits, and going through the armpit or belly button (transumbilical breast implants). The later being the more difficult (and expensive) methods since there is minimal scarring from them. They are also more expensive. Most women agree however that it is worth paying a few thousand more to have saline implants inserted through the belly button rather than going with the ?cheapest? solution of cutting under the breasts, which will leave permanent and prominent scars. The surgeon fee for these different methods can vary anywhere from $2,000 to $12,000. Keep in mind that amount does not include the other following costs:

Operating Room Costs: You will be paying a separate expense for the operating room. This amount can be anywhere from $1,000 all the way up to $8,000 or more.

Anesthesia Fees: You will also be paying the anethesialogist separately for their services. These fees can range anywhere from a flat fee, or $100 to $700 per hour. Typically, since this procedure is so short, you probably will not need to pay for more than 1.5 or 2 hours. However it is important to note that the first hour is charged at a higher rate than normal.

The actual cost of the implant is often included in the surgeon fee, but not always. Mentor is a popular manufacturer of breast implants that manufacturers several different styles, including tear drop shaped implants if you are desiring a more ?perky? look. If you are charged for the implants separately, count on paying anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand for them.

Taking into account all of these expenses, it is safe to say that in order for a breast implant plastic surgeon to perform this procedure, you should expect to pay anywhere from a $4,500 to $14,000, depending on the surgeon you choose, your location, and the type of implant you decide to go with. Of course, this amount is not taking into account the amount of money you may be losing from taking time off at work or other miscellaneous expenses such as prescriptions and first aid products you may need after the surgery is performed. Most people are surprised once they add up all these different costs!
